Music legend Tom Jones will join international chart-toppers Roxette and the stunning Hallé for a spectacular three days of live music at Cheshire’s Tatton Park.
The magnificent country estate provides the perfect backdrop for the ‘Concerts by the Lake’ festival which will take place from Thursday July 28 to Saturday July 30.
The new three-day concert series presented by music promoters Cuffe and Taylor and Neil O’Brien Entertainment has been born out of the hugely successful Tatton Park Picnic Concert which has drawn thousands of music fans to Tatton each summer.
Cuffe and Taylor director Peter Taylor said: “This is going to be something really special.
“We are delighted to expand the wonderfully successful Tatton Park Picnic Concert into Concerts by the Lake, which will bring such world-renowned stars as Sir Tom, Roxette and the Hallé together for what we feel sure will be three days of unforgettable live music.”
Brendan Flanagan, General Manager Tatton Park, said: “For more than 20 years our stunning lakeside setting has been the ideal location for the perfect outdoor concert. For many it has provided the highlight of their summer calendar.
“We’re certain that with such an impressive line-up this year the event will prove to be an even greater success firmly establishing Tatton Park as the `go to’ musical event of the outdoor concert season.”
Tom Jones will take to the stage on Thursday July 28, followed by Roxette on Friday July 29 before the Hallé entertain the audience as part of a picnic proms event on Saturday July 30 which will be followed by a spectacular fireworks finale.
With a career that has spanned more than half a century, Tom Jones has won many accolades including a BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music and a Silver Clef Award for Lifetime Achievement. Knighted in 2006, the global star has amassed 36 top 40 UK hits.
His irresistible show traverses musical eras and genres, appeals to young and old, male and female, mainstream and cutting edge. Sir Tom has always been about the power of the song – earning the nickname ‘The Voice’.
Roxette – Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle – burst out of Sweden in the late 1980s and have produced 33 chart-busting singles – including The Look, It Must Have Been Love and Joyride – four US number ones and total record sales exceeding 75 million. This will be Roxette’s first ever open air performance in the North West.
Now in its 158th season, the Hallé ranks among the UK’s top symphonic ensembles, with a distinguished history of acclaimed performances in this country and around the world.
Born in Manchester, the Hallé boasts award-winning recordings, radio broadcasts and educational outreach programmes; and a visionary commitment to building audiences and developing orchestral repertoire.
